Family Link Program (FLP)

The Family Link Program (FLP) was first developed by Dr Marcus Chiu, a Social Work Professor and Professor Sing Lee, psychiatrist in year 2000 after recognizing the need to educate and support family members of persons with mental illness to empower them to care for their loved ones with mental illness.

After the successful launch of the first class of FLP in 2000, the program continued running classes and trained 150 family members from 2000 to 2002. Currently, there are 8 trainers running 4 classes (each class size of 20 participants) in Hong Kong and graduates of the FLP went on to join the Graduates Association in Hong Kong.

Following the success of FLP in Hong Kong, the FLP was introduced to countries like Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan and most recently Singapore.
